FAQs

  • What types of fabrics do you use?

I only use cellulose (cotton, linen, etc) or protein fibers (silk, wool, etc) - Natural dyes do not bond with synthetic textiles.

  • Are natural dyes toxic?

No! Natural dyes are not toxic, and do not shed chemicals or microplastics when washed.

Natural dyes are actually beneficial to wear and to have around your home.

  • Do you take commissions?

Unfortunately no, I do not do custom work - hopefully I will open this up in the future when I have more space.

  • Where are you located?

My little dye shop is run out of my garage at the moment - but hopefully sometime in the far future I’ll have a place customers can come visit.

  • Will the color fade?

Depending on the type of dye used - in most cases yes, a little bit. Natural dyes are water soluble so that means that over time they will wash out, wear in places most touched, etc. This does not ruin the product, instead it adds character and interest.

  • How to care for the product?

Hand wash with cold water and hang to dry. When you have yellows, keep out of long exposure to sunlight if possible.

Shop Policies

  • Returns / Exchnages

I do accept returns and exchanges within 30 days of purchase. Email lily@foragerandco.com and I’ll see what I can do.

  • Color

The nature of natural dyes is unpredictable and since I dye in small batches, this causes each piece to be perfectly imperfect. You might see some slight discoloration in your product - and if you do not like that reach out and I’ll help you process a return or exchange.

  • Commissions

I am not taking commissions at this time.
